He said the man then invited the girl to have more drinks after the club had closed. He said the man and the student caught a cab to Raiwaqa in Suva where they got off near Deenbhandhu Primary School. Mr Sokomuri said the man had told the student that there was a black market outlet there where they could buy more drinks. However, he said the man raped the student along the way before fleeing. The student reported the incident to police and she was taken to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital where is admitted. Mr Sokomuri called on parents to be more vigilant of what their children were doing during the holidays, home, saying ignorance could lead to such incidents. He said children should be monitored at all times for their own safety. Top of Page |
