Springbok hero Joel Stransky did not mince his words as he told Gareth Jenkins' men that is won't be easy getting into the quarter-final with Fiji in their pool.
It was the former South Africa outside-half and not England hero Wilkinson who became the first to win the World Cup for his country with a last-minute drop-goal when the Springboks shocked hot favourites New Zealand 15-12 in 1995.
While Wilkinson has never been one to court controversy, Stransky has always been known for his forthright views.
And yesterday he told the international media that Wales would face a tough test against Ilivasi Tabua's men.
"Wales have appeared short of confidence and they need to get their act together because, if they come unstuck in a big way against Australia, there would be doubts they could beat Fiji.
"Fiji are a team that is capable of beating Wales if the Welsh are on a low. Fiji have a history of playing well at the World Cup, being unlucky not to beat England in 1999, so they cannot be written off."
