Coached by Solomone Raiqila, the Suva-based side surprised many to beat Senibiau 18-15 last Friday at Lawaqa Park to win the Kalevu Shield.

This week, the side defends the title against Sea Breeze.

"After we won, a lot of people have been saying that we will lose this week. Most people in Nadroga don't give us a chance to retain it," Raiqila said.

"But we want to send a message to all the teams in Nadroga that the kalevu Shield will not return to Nadroga.

"It will remain at the Fiji military barracks at Delainabua.

"It will take sweat and blood if teams think they can dethrone us easily."

Led by first five-eight Emori Bainivalu, the side has the services of former Red Rock speedter Suliano Wainivanua and Leone Naimawi, the younger brother of Fiji rugby star Sireli Bobo.

"We're a young side but we have a lot of experience and guts like we showed last week," Raiqila said.

"This week, we will be an even motivated and better side now that we have the trophy."

Tomorrow, the team will present the trophy to the army commander and interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.
