FIJI reps to the Rugby World Cup in France, Jone Railomo and Gabriel Lovobalavu will bolster the Sharks campaign for the 2008 Colonial Cup series.

Railomo a tighthead prop and utility backliner Lovobalavu will boost the side with their experience.

Sharks coach and former Fiji rugby captain Ifereimi Tawake aims to see marked improvements in the northern franchise.

Tawake said he will not limit his rugby knowledge with the Sharks.

"I will not only be developing the players but looking at recruiting coaches in the area to lift the game in the North," Tawake said.

"That is what I did when I was with the Crusaders and hope to continue the trend."

The former Fiji lock is looking forward to invest quality time with his charges.

Tawake, who donned the Fiji jumper for more then a decade during his playing time, believes there is a lot of raw talent in the North.

"This is something I observed during the Northern Rally this year," he said.

"I saw a lot of good forwards and backline material who impressed and I eagerly anticipate the development of these players."

Tawake has named 50 players to attend trials and build up matches in January after which he will name his squad of 30 for the new season.

"I will include some experienced players from Viti Levu to boost the side," he said.

"These guys and the new ones mixing it up should provide a formidable team."

Seasoned campaigners include former Fijian international Jack Prasad, Isoa Rokobici, Viliame Maya and former Highlanders front row Anasa Qio.

Last year the franchise under Rayne Simpson made head ways but was unfortunate not make the last four.
