The concern was raised yesterday after a draft promulgation on the Teachers Registration Board was presented to stakeholders at the education forum.
Acting deputy permanent secretary for primary, secondary and asset management Jimione Buwawa said the board has the power to register a teacher.
He said the board would not do so unless it was satisfied the person completed an approved course and qualification relating to teacher education, had contributed to educational practice and complied with requirements during provisional registration.
