Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry has accepted the Prime Minister’s invitation to join a multi party Cabinet.

Chaudhry gave a letter of acceptance to Qarase at a meeting which ended a short while ago.

Chaudhry told journalists outside the PM’s Office in Suva that the priority for Labour was to get into Government.

He said he would submit his list of names to Qarase on Monday.

However, Chaudhry said according to the party’s calculations, there should be eight Cabinet portfolios and not seven.

He said he was discussing the matter with Qarase.

Chaudhry also said he would like to include a United People’s Party parliamentarian in the multi party Cabinet line up.

The UPP is the Labour Party’s coalition partner.

Chaudhry did not rule out his inclusion in the list to be submitted to Qarase.
