Fiji's Labour Party will get eight seats in a multi party Cabinet led by Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase.
This comes after Mr Qarase is said to have sought legal advice on a request from the FLP that it be granted an eighth seat -- which it is entitled to under Fiji's power sharing constitution.
Fijilive quotes caretaker Attorney General, Qoriniasi Bale, on a local radio station as saying Mr Qarase and the FLP leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, have now agreed on the final numbers in the country's multi party Cabinet.
The FLP has been offered the portfolios of Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Mineral Resources, Health, Labour, Employment Opportunities and Productivity, Commerce and Industry and Local Government and Urban Affairs.
Under Fiji's power sharing constitution, parties that gain at least ten percent of the 71 member Parliament are entitled to join a multi party Cabinet.
